Anyone else catch the end of the Phillies game last night? If you didn't, here's what happened:
In the top of the eighth inning BJ Rosenberg gave up back to back to back homeruns which gave the Atlanta Braves a 5-1 lead. In the bottom of the eighth the Phils battled back and took the lead after a three run home run from Dom Brown. Jonathan Papelbon was "unavailable" so enter Jake Diekman for his first ever save opportunity. Diekman walked BJ Upton to start the inning then got a ground ball that should have been at least one out, but Chase Utley threw the ball to second and Upton beat the throw. He walked Justin Upton, struck out Evan Gattis and then gave up a grand slam to Dan Uggla. The Phils didn't score in the bottom of the ninth and that was the ball game.
Brutal.
Lets start with Papelbon. Dude gets paid $12.5 million per year but is "unavailable" because he threw ONE INNING three days in a row. Give me a break. Closers should NEVER be "unavailable" period. The Phillies bullpen is an absolute dumpster fire. Maybe one day Ruin Tomorrow Jr. will realize we need a bullpen to win. I'm not holding my breath. This team is pathetic. The gif above pretty much sums up what I think the season is going to be. Third highest payroll in baseball, 73 wins (my prediction). Two of the top three highest paid players in baseball another year missing the playoffs. Did you know Kyle Kendrick is making 500k more than NL MVP Andrew McCutchen. AJ Burnett is making DOUBLE the NL MVP. Unbelievable. Burnett will be pitching through pain for the foreseeable future. Didn't think it could get worse? Think again.

PS. I fu@%ing hate Dan Uggla. Guy hits .190 every year and all his hits seem to be home runs against the Phillies. Could his pants be tighter? Are you a ballet dancer or baseball player?
