Anyone remember this guy?
Here's a history lesson for those of you who don't remember Rick Ankiel. He came up as a pitcher in the late 90s/early 2000s and then this happened. FIVE WILD PITCHES IN ONE INNING! So then Big Rick was sent down to the minors where he reinvented himself as an outfielder. In 14 seasons Ankiel hit .240 with 79 home runs. As a pitcher he was 13-10 with a 3.90 ERA.
Whats the definition of mediocrity? I guess Ankiel's thinking was, "I'm an average pitcher and instead of working hard to become good/great I'll just switch positions and be average at another position." He was probably just too embarrassed to ever show his face on the pitchers mound again.

PS-Big time shout out for Andres Galarraga for being in this video. This marks Galarraga's first appearance on Broken Play. Hopefully this is the first of many.
