ESPN - NBA president of basketball operations Rod Thorn and vice president Kiki Vandeweghe acknowledged in a recent interview with ESPN.com that the league office, at least in an exploratory fashion, has weighed expanding the dimensions of the court and the introduction of a 4-point shot.
I LOVE THE IDEA OF A FOUR POINT SHOT! I have been pitching ideas for improving the NBA for years. Most of them involve more dunking which is obviously the best part of any basketball game. Here is the scoring system of the KBA (Kevin Basektball Association) aka the future of the NBA:
1. Off the backboard dunks will be worth 4 points. Just need more of this. Nothing cooler than an off the backboard dunk. No cooler move in NBA Street than a Dinners Served.

2. Alley-Oops will be worth three points. Imagine this scenario. Clippers down two and CP3 throws a lob to Blake Griffin for a monster slam and the win at the buzzer. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
3. There will be a four point line that is a few feet behind the three point line. Need to keep the game honest, there can't be slams on every single play.
4. Shots from behind half court will be worth 5 points. Half court shots do not require all that much strength. I made one for my CYO basketball team when I was in sixth grade. Durant could pull up from half court easy. He'd probably be a 40% half court shooter.

5. These upgrades may or may not require the court to get bigger. To be honest I don't know how big the court is now.
So there you have it. The new and improved NBA scoring system, courtesy of the KBA. Tell me this wouldn't make the NBA exponentially better.
